Redo of the Site, Again

Redo of the Site

Well, I redid the site again.  I know it's just a personal blog that no one reads, but I feel I should do the best I can even if no one really notices.  I think it looks much better.  I had to set up a couple of things in a strange way but I got it set up to be easily managed.  At least it's done.  I highly doubt I'll be redoing it again anytime soon.

I still have comments installed on the site.  I'm not sure why.  I switched it over to Disqus though so that's easier.

So I finished watching Flash Forward.  I certainly can't say it was perfect, but it was leaps and bounds greater than most of the crap that is on TV.  As I said in one of my recent posts on here, that is probably why it was canceled.  If television shows aren't complete crap stupid people can't wrap their heads around them.  Sure, that's an exaggeration, but not much of one.

Still watching Castle with my girlfriend.  It is definitely not very deep but the main characters have chemistry and it's fairly funny.  My main complaint with the show is that it is incredibly formulaic.  Can you say "red herring"?  I can, every single show.  I like it though.

I'm watching season 6 of Entourage.  I've always loved that show.  It's just fun to watch.  Everything about that show is pure win.  Interesting characters, storylines (tangent: storylines, the storyline plural, is not in Firefox spellchecker) that don't slow or slack off, and lots of umm...things to look at.  I mostly watch this when I'm in the bedroom taking care of my daughter (she's 11 months.)

I haven't played a game in at least three weeks.  I'm not sure what's wrong with me.  I have four games sitting around that I have been waiting a year or more to play and I just don't feel like it right now.  I'm too busy working on pounding out websites.  I'll catch up on them soon.  They are:

  1. Red Dead Redemption:  Started it but only got maybe eight or nine hours in.
  2. Alan Wake:  Started this but Red Dead Redemption came out.  Finished the first two chapters.
  3. Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands:  Haven't even put this in the drive yet.
  4. Alpha Protocol:  I haven't touched this one yet either.  The reviews don't look great (not the ones I read anyway), but I generally like to find out for myself.
So I start working on my new project tomorrow.  Hopefully anyway.  There will be some annoying occurances in my life over the weekend, so I can't be sure I'll get started on it right away.  It's not something I'm going to pound out in a few days anyway.  I expect it will probably take me about a month, which probably means it will take five or six.  Doesn't matter to me.  It's better than sitting around on my butt all day doing nothing, and maybe I'll make some money off of it eventually.

Adobe Kuler

Adobe Kuler

This is Adobe's free online colour schemer.  It
has some great features such as generating your
colours by examining a picture that you like
(from Flickr or from your computer).  You can
also work out your colours manually.

The site has tons of users already and if you
don't want to work out your colours on your
own then you can look through the thousands
of already created schemes.

Sound Cloud

Sound Cloud

A little bit like YouTube for audio.  Musicians (or
producers, DJs, rappers, whatever) can sign up
(for free or paid premium) and upload their
music.  This is a great way to find new artists
and some of the work on here is absolutely
excellent.

If you like Dubstep I recommend you look up
Inofaith.

My music can also be found on this site.  My
account is located here.

Aviary

Aviary

Aviary is an online image suite.  Basically it is
Adobe Creative Suite in your browser, for
free.  Keep in mind that that's me saying
that and not them.  They could probably be
sued for saying that.

This is great for those times when you are at a
friend's house and need to do some image
editing, only to find out he has nothing of use
on his (or her) computer.  Enter Aviary.

Either that or you are just bored :)

Loop Labs

Loop Labs

A great little site for making music when you
don't have access to a proper DAW.  The
web apps on this site are loop sequencers
and they work fairly well.

I've made a couple quick songs on this site
when I needed to amuse myself.
